The Devils in the Deal

We stand, arms crossed and say "We merely observe." But we, in our deals with the devil, unleashed the floods, the famine, the flames and the destruction. Our endless online orders, with packaging that lays waste to the earth. Our continuous consumption corrodes the planet. Our greed degrades all life that we see. Our violence - verbal, physical and moral, violates all that we touch. We laugh at others' misfortunes, mock the weak and deride the cries of distress, but the tables are turned. The remote control is wrested from our grip. We cannot outwit the devils and death. We deal with the devils, daily. The devils deal with us, for eternity. We must judge ourselves. We are the problem, but could be the solution.
