Afterlife - stoneware vase

Inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead festival, this vase celebrates both life and death. Using a relief printing block the design was stamped into the surface and oxides added. Further hand painted skeletons, who act as gate keepers for the passageway to the afterlife, dance playfully around the sides of the vase.
